John Walther of Thibodaux, LA was the winner of the $1,000.00 New Orleans Boat Show On-line Shopping Spree. John visited the New Orleans Boat Show web site before show opening and registered and his name was drawn as the lucky winner.  John came to the show and shopped with Eric Beier of Boat Stuf for all of his boating needs.

Take Me Fishing Center

Congratulations to the "Take Me Fishing Center Sign Up to Win" contest winner, Lorri Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA.
Lorri won a Fishing Trip with local radio & TV personality Don Dubuc.

This interactive exhibit features hands-on activities, presentations and demonstrations that will give you the know-how to get started or improve your fishing skills. Be sure to check out the daily seminar schedule and enter giveaways for your chance to win great fishing prizes, too.



Copies of the official New Orleans Boat Show poster by local artist Glinda Schafer will be available for signing for $10.00 each to benefit the City Park Big Bass Fishing Rodeo. City Park’s Big Bass Fishing Rodeo is the oldest continuously run freshwater fishing contest in the country. Fishing and boating in City Park has been suspended due the ravages of Hurricane Katrina on the park and lagoons. The funds raised will assist in reestablishing this great annual event.


The Berkley Strike Team will present a display to include product demonstrations on “Bait Action,” “Bait Sensory,” knot testing/hand crank stress line simulator and Berkley “In The Zone” video game. Don’t miss this informative feature.


Located within the TAKE ME FISHING CENTER, the Travelin’ Fish Tank is a 40,000 gallon traveling aquarium stocked with fish where ongoing seminars are held featuring local and regional fishing pros sharing tips on how to land those trophy fish. Also featured will be seminars on marine electronics, photography, engine maintenance and fishing and boating do's and don't's.

The First Mate Patch program will allow boy and girl scouts to earn a patch for completing a series of educational stations where they will learn first hand the importance of conservation, fish species and habitat of our area, plus other nautical skills.

Featuring games from Microsoft XBOX, Sony Playstation 2, Activision, Nintendo Game Cube and others, you can play a variety of boating and watersports games for a truly electronic experience. The Sony Eye-Toy games played on the 54" Toshiba Monitor station, are some of the most current, state of the art games on the market. Come on down to the New Orleans Boat Show, and join us at the IGX booth to test your skill!
